Multi Community Based Development Initiative (MUCOBADI) is a local NGO founded in 2000 by Community Development Volunteers some of whom HIV positive but decided on a general name to avoid stigma and discrimination to gradually illustrate to people that positive people can be a positive force for development of their communities. MUCOBADI currently operates in Eastern, Northern Uganda and Karamoja regions. Our programming focuses on five thematic areas: Health, Human rights and Social Accountability, Livelihoods, Water, Hygiene and Sanitation and Institutional strengthening.
We are an independent, non-political, non-religious and Non-Governmental Organisation registered with the Uganda National NGO Board (Reg No: S.5914/7569). We support and implement Community-Based interventions that are turning the tide and impact of HIV, poor health, poverty and abuse of right in Uganda
The major target groups of MUCOBADI include, Orphans and Other Vulnerable Children, women, commercial sex workers and their partners, Persons Living With HIV/AIDS, Fisher Folks, out of school youths, couples in long term relationships, bar maids, Boda Boda riders, Persons with Disabilities, Widows and the elderly
