From 8th to 12th September 2025, ambassadors from Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Ireland travelled to Karamoja to see how partnerships are driving accountability and improving lives. While the week included several important meetings and dialogues, the most powerful moment came when the delegation, guided by MUCOBADI, visited Kalemungole Health Centre III in Tapac Sub-county, Moroto.
A Community Story at Kalemungole HCIII
At Kalemungole, the ambassadors were introduced to the Community Oversight Committee, a group of local citizens who meet regularly with health workers to raise concerns, suggest improvements, and hold the facility accountable.
Mothers spoke about safer deliveries and more attentive care. Health workers described how community feedback has helped them improve services. What was once a place of frustration is now becoming a center of hope and safety.
For the ambassadors and other partners present, it was a chance to see how simple but powerful accountability structures, supported by MUCOBADI, can transform health services and rebuild trust between citizens and duty bearers.
The broader program included:
-
District reflection meetings in Moroto and Napak (8th–9th September), led by the NGO Bureau.
-
Courtesy visits and stakeholder engagements (10th September), hosted by KAWUO and FIDA-Uganda.
-
A regional dialogue between government and NGOs (11th September), convened by HRCU and RCSN-K.

As we continue our work across Northern Uganda, we remain committed to building on these community-led solutions that bring dignity, safety, and hope to citizens.
